The Karak Resources Project (KRP) is a multidisciplinary project working in the Karak region of central Jordan. It examines how people of the Karak plateau utilized the natural resources both in the past and present, attempting to understand the cultural and political history and explore the current social and environmental status of the Karak region. Work on the Karak plateau began with a pilot season in 1995 and continued with field seasons of 5-6 weeks length in the years since (1997, 1999, 2001, 2009, 2011, and 2014). Between field seasons data gathered during the summers is analyzed.
The studies in the VKRP Articles (Virtual Karak Resources Project) section of the web site were originally written between 2001 and 2004. No attempt has been made to update the information contained in the studies except to correct spelling errors when found. If you are interested in using the old site as originally designed you view it find it here https://web.archive.org/web/20051025080737/http://www.vkrp.org/
The KRP Digital Archive is a location used by the excavation staff to do pre-publication work that will be linked to the final publication. Inside you will find galleries of pottery and data collected in the area over the 7 field seasons as well as a collection of Historical Maps that have been curated by the project over the years (coming soon).
